Ok, we’ve finally made it to the last block of photos from Kyoto. We are still in the Fushimi-inari shrine, the mountain full of thousands of tori gates and is very popular in movies and photos.
People walk among the shrines here and leave things like the two coins above. I think a lot of the stacked small tori gates are waiting for someone to either purchase them, or assign them, or something similar to that.

I really like the photo above with all the flags and the great colors. The sky was cooperating and I was happy to see it. You can see all the many many tori gates that liter the mountainside.
We saw some ceremony happening where they burned a lot of leaves, and also a ton of oranges. I didn’t get any photos of that but it was very surprising. The smell was delightful!
We made our way down the mountain and back into the city. That was the end of the Kyoto trip – next up we headed to Osaka! Stay tuned for that portion of the trip!
